RoboLab

TLK

Summary

Robotics
User centric design
Service design

The RoboLab is where we run workshops and trials of implementations on our humanoid robots, whether we are simulating a dentist waiting room for a robot that provides instructions on how to floss or setting up a restaurant/cafe for the robot waiter Alex to serve us food and drinks.

The lab is flexible enough to customize for a specific use case for our robots, a default layout is "Amy's restaurant" where we also like to run demonstrations of how humanoid service robots operate in the real world.

There is a large screen and speakers on the wall for sharing presentations and videos, as well as a large touch-screen for interactive, collaborative teaching and learning sessions with students and personnel alike. The lab will soon host the required technology for hybrid teaching as we are in the process of upgrading both acoustics and tech in the lab.
